Description

a handwritten note is always in style

Meet “Washi”
(our leading lady)

The paper used in this note card set is our most beloved washi from Japan! Washi literally translates to “Japanese paper” and is commonly made from kozo, mitsumata and/or gampi natural fibers. Chiyogami (sometimes referred to as “yuzen”) is a specific type of washi highlighted by a beautiful pattern that  is silk-screened by hand, one color at a time. Here’s a little clip of the silk-screening process that we were able to capture when we were graciously invited to see how the magic happens! We think every type of washi is an undisputed “gem” when it comes to handmade paper!

There’s Gold, And Then There’s RICH GOLD
(why our jaws dropped when we saw this washi print!)

We love a good gold accent. It’s one of the things that just really makes our heads turn!  So when we saw this pretty print with a full wash of iridescent gold, we did not hesitate to snatch it up! It’s one of the most exquisite papers we’ve ever curated and we know you’ll love it.

We named this print “Sachiko” which means good luck in Japanese.

A Closer Look

“The details are not the details, they make the design.” – Charles Eames

There are so many gorgeous design elements in this print, that we thought you’d love to take a closer look! From time to time, we pull out our magnifying loupe to gain a different perspective on our washi prints. Enjoy these images – magnified 8X – and soak in all the pretty little details!
