In our opinion, there’s nothing more special than putting pen to paper and sending a handwritten note – for every special occasion, or no occasion at all!

Katazome-shi (also known as wazome) is printed using a labor intensive resist dyeing method based on a traditional kimono-printing technique. A wax-like paste is applied through a stencil, then individual layers of ink are added, allowing for proper drying time between each color application. The paste resists the ink everywhere it’s been applied, and the gorgeous design reveals itself when the excess ink is rinsed away with water. Each sheet is then washed by hand, dried, and ironed flat. This paper is such a treasure!
