I am sansei. My grandparents were immigrants from Okinawa, my parents are nisei (second generation), and that makes me sansei (third generation). I was born and raised in Hawai`i, spent a number of years living in California, and then made my way back to O`ahu, my island home.

While my frequent visits to mainland Japan feed my creative side, and my visits to Okinawa connect me in a meaningful way to my ancestral roots, I feel a great sense of balance in Hawai`i. I had always wanted to create designs that honors all three things that fuel my soul in such a special way. For me, the Sansei Collection is the most authentic way to acknowledge who I am and where I came from.
